Collegize Weekly Activity:
Think about this quote and how it relates to college, "The journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step."
The College Scoop!
It’s time to go back to school. This year will be one of great change, but how much progress towards college is up to you. Collegize has committed to helping with your advancement toward higher education by helping you strengthen your eventual college application, start the search for your best-fit college, and understand financial aid. The first step on your journey is writing down a goal college. Having a destination makes the journey real, and your goal college serves that purpose.
Your goal college should be a place where you would truly like to attend, but is also a college you believe would be difficult to gain acceptance. Do not confuse your goal college with your favorite or “top choice”. Your goal college helps set a high-enough benchmark where reaching that goal would help with admission to all other colleges on your list. Preparing to gain admission into a college like the University of Georgia, Vanderbilt, or Yale would make getting into any other college or university much easier.
Your goal college is something deeply personal and unique to you. Do not let anyone convince you to change your goal college. Write your goal college down in a safe place, find the college on the app and set it as a “Favorite.” Until you decide to change your goal college, admission to that particular school should be your primary focus. Don’t worry if you do not have a goal college, picking one can be something you can come back to later.
